"Death Valley National Park is a land of unique beauty. It offers colorful canyons, snow-capped mountains, ever-shifting sand dunes sculpted by the winds, a stream of salty water and even a black crater where the time stands still.  This extremely harsh desert is home to unique plants and animals.  I have depicted a spectacular viewpoint surrounded by beautifully eroded and colorful badlands.  The scenery varies greatly depending on the direction of observation.  I have carefully picked an angle and an elevation to maximize the sense of vastness and depth. The interplay between light and shadow creates an ultimate drama."
